What You Need to Make Your Door & Building a Safe & Perfect Fit
With powerful elements, our heavy-duty industrial hydraulic doors are large moving pieces of equipment that may put a lot of stress and force on a building. Therefore your building should be strong enough to support the added stress of a durable, moving hydraulic garage door.
At Schweiss we want to help ensure your safety and the structure of your building. We’ll walk you through everything your desired structure will need to safely use a hydraulic door.
Installation & Stress on the Building – Hydraulic Doors
As our custom garage doors move they create both inward and outward forces increasing the load on your door and your building. Before you install your door, be sure your building manufacturer/contractor has made the appropriate calculations to accommodate for the added stresses of an industrial hangar door.
Every bid/order from Schweiss comes with a spec sheet that you’ll need to fill out accurately to ensure that your building will be strong enough to support the added forces of the custom-built door.
Retrofitting an existing building with industrial overhead doors may require the use of the Schweiss free standing header. A freestanding header creates a straight and level surface for your hydraulic garage door to be mounted onto while also providing added support for your building.
A freestanding header allows you to add an industrial garage door to your building without having to remodel your end wall.
